Hi i contacted 3 creditors to advise that my TD was complete in Aug 2010 and requested the show my debt as settled. I have had to letter them several times since and only one has replied, Lloyds TSB. They said that they will show my debt as partially satisfied. Why is this rather than settled/satified?

Neither T mobile or Cabolt have replied to me. How do i get a response?

Thanks

Hi tg16.

I'd imagine that Lloyds TSB have decided to mark the debt part satisfied because the full balance was not repaid to them. Are you talking about the debt itself or a Default Notice issued on the debt?

With Cabot and T Mobile you may, after giving them adequate chance to deal with your request, decide to use their complaints procedures.

Trsut deed asst...you do ask difficult questions!

Thanks for your reply. I am thinking along the lines of cleaning up me credit report and think that a part satisfied debt will not look good. I thought that on completion of the trust deed a satisfied or settled recording would be listed. I'm struggling to get my head around the whole process and it is almost a year since i completed the TD yet I feel no further forward. My pnas are to save like mad for a year and try to get a mortgage which in effect will be 2 yrs post TD completion but my credit rating still has these 3 defaults listed.

Any advice is much appreciated.

If it shows on there as a Default Notice it will be in your interests to get it cleared up tg16. Other visitors have found that other lenders have been prepared to mark Default Notices as "satisfied" once the trust deed has ended. That will help you with applications for credit in the future.

If Lloyds TSB will only mark it as being "part-satisfied" that may not be quite so helpful. If I'm honest though, I don't know the rights and wrongs of the position that they may be taking.

I don't think you can get debts themselves wiped off the record but I'm open to being corrected by a member who has worked through this process.

thanks very much. the whole credit file thing is a nightmare. funnily enough Lloyds sent me a cheque for ยฃ25 for having to chase them up about this. I might write to them and seek clarification as to why it wil be listed as part satisfied.
