Seems that there is a new reimbursement opportunity out there for miss-sold packaged bank accounts.

Now, my wife and I have had a Royalties Gold account with RBS since 2010 - a joint account.

Should we be entitled to compensation, would my ex-trustee from 2011 be entitled to claim any payout?

So in theory tinsoldier the same principles as per PPI might apply.

One important distinction is that these claims will on average be of a much lower value than PPI - so the potential creditor benefit of seeking reappointment may also be much lower.

Another important distinction is that this is speculative - we've not heard of it happening.

Given that there's no certainty about which way the PPI issue will go, I'm not proposing to engage much further on this issue which isn't apparently happening at all currently. I can't really think of anything more I'd be able to say about it! Hope you understand.

No probs TDA

I do know of people being paid back plus interest & compensation, although as you say maybe far lower amounts than PPI

As I say it was a joint account - in theory could a trustee go after 100%?

I'm going to stay out of this subject now tinsoldier - though others may well wish to contribute.

I'd just go back to the point in my previous reply - "in theory the same principles as per PPI might apply".

As there is no tested clarity yet about what those principles are, I can't see the benefit of applying them to a similar but separate subject.
