My trust deed completed in last June and I was discharged November 2011. One of my creditors was Capital One of which there is £196 outstanding. All of my other accounts have cleared on my credit file, but this one remains open??? I spoke to a nice man at Capital One who said that Grant Thornton had not issued any money. I promptly contacted Grant Thornton to be told that none of my creditors had receieved dividends?? I find this strange as all my other creditors have now been satisfied. Would it be advisable for me to offer payment to Capital One as it is constantly showing default and keeping my credit score low, or can anyone suggest how I complain to Grant Thornton. In addition Grant Thornton say that they are looking into a VAT return - that was when I was discharged last November and they have not said anything since. I have contacted them several times but emails and letters do not get responded to:((

Hi Duncra.

It's not your problem that your creditors didn't get a dividend. If you have been discharged they should reflect that in what they report to the credit reference agencies.

See: https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html

You don't owe any money to Capital One, so don't give them any. If they will not update your credit file make a formal complaint to them. If that doesn't do the trick, take the matter to the Information Commissioner.
