A Scottish Government press release today describes a fall in the number of protected trust deeds between July and September this year.
Compared to the previous quarter the number of protected trust deeds was down by 7%.
Compared to the same period last year the number of protected trust deeds was down by 8%.
Bankruptcies (from debtor applications) fell by 11% compared to the previous quarter and 20% versus the same period last year. 73% of these were via the LILA (low income low asset) route.
Bankruptcies resulting from creditor applications to the court increased 35% versus the previous quarter and 17% versus the same period last year.
There was a 60% increase in the number of DPP's under the debt arrangement scheme compared to the same quarter the previous year.
Insolvency amongst Scottish companies fell by 32% versus the previous quarter.
