I've obviously been given rubbish advice.....that totally scares me as I've put my trust in them. What should I do?
Hi SunnyM.
I don't think we can assume that all of the advice that you have received is rubbish.
Looking back at your other thread, David and I are both keen to understand whether you've actually signed the trust deed as yet.
I have signed papers so I'm assuming they are to give authorisation.
If you've officially gone ahead your details will be on the register of insolvencies SunnyM.
You can check here: https://roi.aib.gov.uk/roi/PublicSearches/PublicSearch
Can't find my details on the list via link you sent.
It does say in correspondence to me that details will be published shortly
I don't think I gave you the best link SunnyM.
It's not a list that's meant to come up, but a screen where you can enter your own details to see if there is an entry for you.
Try clicking the text that says "Search Criteria" towards the top-left of the page then put your name in to see if there's anything there.
Must be doing something wrong. I clicked on the link and it asks for your name, address etc...nothing coming up under that.
Just found it. They've got my date of birth wrong.
One last check for you SunnyM.
Sometimes putting too much information into the search boxes causes an issue of an entry not being found.
Is it the same if you only put in your surname and first name into that search box and then submit the search?
Another real worry is that I advised house was in husband's name only and that I had no assets. I was told this was okay. They can't force my husband into anything can they?
OK - I think we were writing at the same time there.
I'm afraid I don't think it's going to be possible to easily change track here.
However, I'm not sure at all that the risk of discovery for this reason is quite as high as you might fear.
As just mentioned on your other thread, we have often heard in this forum from people in trust deeds with partners that haven't had major issues obtaining credit.
Ok...thanks for all your help and advice. I am going off now as my head is splitting and I fear I'll just dissolve into floods of tears if I think about it for much longer tonight. Tomorrow's another day to worry!
Hi...yes that is the absolute truth. My husband has the marital home in his name only and our mortgage is not joint.
