We are looking at getting a sofa from dfs, obviously my partner would be applying for the credit. He has good credit rating but I'm concerned because I in a trust feed this would affect the credit check. Just wondering of anyone could advise

Hi Becca

My wife had a problem with credit on a mobile phone. She has never had any arrears or poor credit history. It seems likely it was related to financial links with me.
We applied with a different provider and had no issues.

Do you and your partner have joint accounts or a joint mortgage? If so some, not all, lenders view this in a poor light.

Hi becca84.

It all depends on whether the DFS finance provider checks financial links and how important they believe them to be.

All lenders look at this differently, so you'll only find out by applying.
