Just been told by a broker, after getting a call back because I done a online quote thing, that I you cant get a remortgage for 6 years after a PTD is completed.
Is this right?

Mine finished two years ago now.

Hi Jinty.

It's total nonsense.

It's the sort of thing a mortgage broker will say when either:

1 - They don't know what they're talking about.

2 - It's not business that they want to take on.

We've heard from plenty of people here who have obtained a mortgage much sooner than that after being discharged from their trust deeds.

Best to find a different broker to talk to I think.

Was told by my lender 3 years after discharge , as my discharge was in November 2014 I could not get a mortgage from any other lender even though I earned enough to take it in my sole name.

A certain trustees actions forced me to sell my home of 49 years in March , this will be the first year I will not spend Christmas , my birthday and new year in what I called home, karma is coming to you at the end of this month pray we never meet .[}:)]

Go to a broker covering whole of market.

I secured a mortgage with The Nationwide 2 years after discharge.

Hi JintyMcSkinty,

Just to echo what others have said shop around and speak with a couple of mortgage advisor about the possibility of securing a mortgage.

If you do that you will give yourself the best chance.
