I would recommend speaking to a financial advisor who will be able to assess your viability to obtain a mortgage. The decision is based on a number of variables including affordability and credit worthiness.

More on this subject here Kylewi:

There's too many factors involved to think that it's driven mainly by the status of defaults, presence of trust deed on credit file etc.

Hi ,

A light at the end of the tunnel... I myself had a trust deed and I was discharged in FEB 2018. I was approved for my mortgage by Scotwest at 90% LTV in November 2018. I completed in December and I am now a new HOME OWNER!

Scotwest credit union are amazing, they are thourough with their checks of documents; paylsips, bank statements, savings but are so helpful. They only use certain mortgage brokers... I can ceratinly recommend the one I used.

Glasgow credit Union will also offer a 85%LTV I am told.

I hope this helps, I know the journey is tough but you are so close!

Hi SMAC.

Thanks for sharing this information.

These are the only two lenders we've previously heard about offering a mortgage so soon after discharge from a trust deed.

Unfortunately many people will not have access to them for geographical reasons.

Glad that it worked out for you.
