Hi matthew1985,

It really depends on your financial circumstances.

Let's say for example you can afford to pay a payment towards a Trust Deed if your mortgage is interest only but if you convert this to repayment then you won't be able to afford a payment. You then need to consider your options and what's best short term.

If you have a generous disposable income and after you have converted to repayment you can still afford a payment per month then this would be fine.

How are along the process have you got in terms of the Trust Deed?

Thank you for your reply. I have been discharged and just noticed on paperwork about my mortgage. I just feel I should have been advised to revert back to repayment as I feel I could still make a payment

I guess you could argue that any adviser should take a holistic view of your circumstances matthew1985.

I'm not sure how many insolvency practitioners would consider it to be their duty to provide advice about moving to a repayment mortgage that would diminish the return to your creditors though.
