Hi there.
I am currently a year and a half into a PTD.
I ordered a sim-only, 30 day contract from tmobile for my husband from their website this afternoon, for a new phone I had bought him seperately for his Christmas.
The 30-day contract is £12.82 a month, and we were already spending £10-£15 a month on his phone.
It is only now dawning on me that this will be seen as a credit agreement and I maybe should have phoned my trustee first to check this was okay?!! I am now worried sick that I will get into trouble for this and should I phone and notify my trustee tomorrow?
I only had a new baby by caesarean last week and my baby-brain/painkillers are leaving me somewhat dopey at the moment, so hoping they wont be too harsh with me. I can cancel this contract after the 30 days if need be, so do you think this will be okay?
Any advice appreciated.
Hello greenie.
Congratulations on your new arrival!
You have nothing to worry about. Being in a protected trust deed does not mean that you cannot enter into a credit contract. You don't need to advise your trust deed firm of this.
Thank you so much!
I thought I'd chance my arm with vodafone. I ordered their sim only, 12 month contract online and fully expected it to be declined. It was accepted!!!!! It's a wee Christmas miracle[:D]. Now I've got 10 days till my final payment comes off. I can see the end of the tunnel.
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
