hi since my trust deed became protected in january i have had no phone calls over debts, last week i received one fron loweell to say they had a copy of my credit file and as i had (two bank accounts and a credit card ) i no longer have these as they were prior to me signing trust deed they wanted to know when i was going to pay debt they had bought over from argos additions as i had these accounts they thought i could pay debt of now ,i told them had a protected trust deed and gave them details to contact trust deed company.today i received a message on answer machine from newmans who have bought debt i had with lloyds tsb this debt is also included in trust deed as was argos additions debt.i thought when i had signed trust deed and these debts were included in it i would not then be contacted by other debt collection that had bought them over,i wondered if any one else has been in this situation thanks in advance

Hi pepper350.

It sounds as though you have done the right thing letting these creditors know about your trust deed.

The original creditor may not have told the debt purchaser I suppose, or there may have been some kind of administrative error.

I'd suggest making your trust deed company aware as they should be able to help bring any such contact to a swift end.

When i became protected i was told that any letters from debt companys should be forwared straight to my trustee and that any ponecalls i got should be told that i was now part of a protected trust deed and that it was breaking the law to be contacting me and any futher communication should go through my trustee.
