Hi Guys,

My trustdeed became protected on March 2015, Im now discharged

Ive checked my credit report and link financial have a default date for sept 2016? is this legal ? Can you default someone after its been protected ?

Also they show a balance of £200, should this be zero if ive been discharged ?

Hi Welcome14.

There's a section about Default Notices in this guide:

https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html

In short:

1 - They should backdate the default notice to no later than when your trust deed began.

2 - There should be no balance owed showing.

You'll need to contact them to request/insist that they make these updates.

Hi Welcome 14,

This happens all the time and normally is resolved once it’s pointed out to them.

TDA has provided some good useful information on how to go about getting this resolved.

Is it only Link Financial on your credit report that there is an issue with? Is everything else ok?

Let us know how you get on contacting Link Financial to have it fixed.
