Does anyone out there have any experience of life after a TD.

Would like to hear experiences of anyone in their attempts to move on, buying houses, getting credit for buying a car, debit facilities etc.

Cheers.

My experience was life after bankruptcy but there may be similarities
During bankruptcy the only card I could get was a cash card. On discharge I asked for my cash card to be upgraded to a current account and was refused by Barclays. HBOS with whom I had an account with pre bankruptcy agreed to a mainstream account with debit card on condition of a receipt of a discharge certificate. You may need to ask for a similar certificate for Trust Deeds.I have had no problem getting a credit card with this type of account. It is worth perservering to get a current account as it makes you feel more financially included.I have also been able to open a business account with RBS with no problem
Good luck with this there is light at the end of the tunnel, you are not alone. Make sure the credit reference agencies like Experion etc are updated on the end of your TD as this not done automatically
