I'm wondering if anyone on here has successfully completed a DAS and how long it has taken to rebuild their credit rating afterwards? I know there have been a few similar posts on here before but these seem to be about completing a trust deed.
I am 4 years into a 5 year Debt Arrangement Scheme and with just 13 payments left to make (not that I'm counting!) I am starting to look to the future and plan how myself and my husband can buy a house.
I've read a few posts in the past that seem to suggest that any of my defaulted debt will stay on my credit report for 6 years after the last payment of my DAS (which is fairly depressing...) however yesterday I found this article that says it is only the first default date that counts:
https://debtcamel.co.uk/debt-default-date/
If this article is correct this is very good news indeed! Having checked my Equifax report (I'm still waiting on my Experian one to come through), it seems that the latest default date against me was in July 2013, so my credit report should be clear of defaults from July 2019 [:)]
I'm already planning how I can save the money that I currently pay towards my DAS into a Help to Buy ISA and researching tips on how to rebuild my credit rating but any help or advise from people that have been through the DAS and come out the otherside would be really helpful!
