I received a letter from one of my creditors asking me to provide them with the ref number, trustee and copies of documentation. They have also asked me to return my credit card.
This all worries me for three reasons :

(1) They allready have this information as I phoned them more than a week ago to inform them.

(2) I signed the trust deed paperwork over three weeks ago so why do they not have the information from the trustee as of yet ?

(3) I can't return my card as I destroyed it when I signed the docs.

How should I proceed ?

Thanks

S.C.

Itโ€™s nothing to worry about Roverrunner76. This is just standard correspondence from the creditors.

Once your Trust Deed is advertised on the Register of Insolvencies a unique reference number will be allocated to your Trust Deed by the Accountant in Bankruptcy. You can give this reference number to your creditors if they ask for it. It can take a couple of weeks from when you first meet with your Trustee and sign paperwork for details to be sent to your creditors. It can then take a couple of weeks for the creditors to receive this and update their records. I normally advise my clients it can take 8-12 weeks for things to balance out.

When paperwork is sent to your creditors you should receive a copy of this. Have you?

Give your Trustee a call and ask them for an update and they will be able to confirm the position. I suspect that as the creditor has written to you asking for your Trust Deed reference they are aware of the Trust Deed.

When I signed the paperwork, everything was in duplicate so I could have copies for myself.
They are aware of the Trust dedd because I told them over the phone.

Have a look on the Register or Insolvencies to see if details of your Trust Deed appears. We only have 7 days from the date of the notice on the ROI to write to creditors and notify them.

A quick call to your Trustee on Monday morning Iโ€™m sure will reassure you and give you more of an update.
