My husband and I have both signed Trust Deeds - these are for 5 years. I am now wondering why it is so long as from what I can gather, most people get 3 years. 1 year in, it feels like it's never ending.

Welcome to the trust deed forum WW3001.

Most trust deeds last three years. They can be longer in some circumstances.

This could be in order to ensure the creditors will receive an acceptable level of return, or to fund above-average fees for your trust deed firm, or a combination of the two.

Five years seems a very long time though - was it not explained to you why this would be?
