Hi bboy001.
It's quite common for car users to get a "maintenance and repairs" allowance during their trust deeds. Did you get one?
Even where people do a ยฃ500 bill is always going to be really difficult.
You may need to request a payment break. If approved that would usually then extend the term to make up the money.
The Northern Rock issue is interesting. In fact, there will be an article added to the site on this precise subject tonight. Northern Rock are only intending to hand cash over to people that have fully repaid their loans. Others will see their balances reduced instead. If you have fully repaid your loan I'd imagine the cash would have to go into your trust deed in full.
Will Northern Rock reduce the balances for loans that are in trust deeds, or will they pay the money over to the trust deed for the benefit of all creditors? If they reduce the balances (and therefore their claims) will IPs challenge this and seek the money to be paid over for the benefit of all creditors?
Hi Angie
Have you had any response/outcome with KPMG?
I'm in a similar position to yours and have just received another copy of the annual "statement" letter sent to Creditors which appears to indicate that my case is still wide open.(Despite having finished my TD last December 2011 and having a letter to say all payments were made, etc.). The terminology they appear to use in respect of their client the Debtor,me,is quite intimidating.
This I have been led to believe through this Forum (a million thank you's!)is due to the PPI laws, but have never received any communications to this effect from my Trustee.
Have rung a few times over the last months with varying outcomes and continued stalemate.(No replies, messages left on answermachines not returned, and finally speaking with administrators who give replies but nothing progresses from these conversations). I have emailed to specific people, who do still work there(several times - as good as letter writing?), but have never received a response at any time to those. (Tell a lie, once received a reply - see below)
I appreciate they have a job to do and they have rules/laws to abide by, but I'm under no illusion as to the way these TD's appear to be handled; poorly.(And I see we are not alone).
I would say my case was straight forward but it still appears to be straddled with apathy.(Had a windfall half way through the TD which interestingly was handled with great efficiency).
As the Debtor, I will continue to strive for a smattering of further efficiency.
I wonder if the Creditors have as much efficiency?
Yes, I'm cynical but I'm trying very hard to be "nice" and middle of the road about all of this ............ after all I got myself into this pickle in the first place..........BUT!
