My husband and I are looking for some advice and support. I have contacted the forum before regarding this and I want everyone to be aware about how Knightsbridge conduct there business. We entered into our Trust Deed in January 2012, and my husband has been fighting for his letter 6 for months now to no avail, meanwhile the Trustee has taken a 5th payment from the money paid in. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, and a letter promising this would be finished and letter 6 issued by 3/4/2017 we are still getting the run around. Can we contact anyone to push this matter for us. We feel that this is hanging over us, and creditors are refusing to alter my husbands credit file until they have received their payment. Many thanks in advance. Mandy

Hi Mandy75.

To be honest, I think your comments are pretty unfair though I'm sure you're being sincere when you're posting them.

As we've previously informed you, it's perfectly reasonable to expect a trustee to discharge you promptly (Form 5) once you've completed your obligations.

However, the trustee has no obligation to you to discharge themselves (Form 6) until they're satisfied that they have completed all of their work on this case. This should have no negative ramifications for you.

As we replied to you last year, any creditor stating that they will not update your husband's credit file until your trustee is discharged is in the wrong. This is their fault, not the fault of the trustee. This article explains why and what you can do about it:

I recieved a letter from Knightsbridge on 18/01/2017 stating that letter 6 would be issued by 74 days from 20/01/2017, so you can understand my frustration when yet again this time has lapsed, and nothing has arrived. I have tried contacting the creditors, but shall do again via the information commissioner this time. Thank you.

Hi Mandy75.

I can very much appreciate your frustration if you've been told something which then didn't happen, but I don't think this is the source of the issue with your husband's credit rating.

Have you submitted a formal complaint to the creditor concerned? Financial institutions have to deal with complaints within fixed periods of time and employ people who are empowered to resolve them in a way that frontline customer service people sometimes aren't. Many of our visitors have found that a formal complaint resolves the issue quite quickly.

An intervention by the Information Commissioner might well also help.

I do hope that this all gets resolved quickly for you.

No problem Mandy75.

Just so you know, you can make complaints by telephone as well.

Might be quicker and easier, though I know some people like to have a written record of what has happened.
