Hi skintagain.

When this subject has come up before the experts here have written that there should be no problem.

However, we've heard from one or two people who have (initially at least) been told otherwise by their trust deed providers (who weren't yet discharged).

This should be OK, but I wouldn't do anything without calling the firm to be 100% sure first.

Hi skintagain.

Your discharge is only official once it's recorded on the Register of Insolvencies. You can check that yourself online.

Your trust deed provider will normally notify you of this in writing as well, but it's the register which is the official record.
