I have just been verbally offered a job with a company in the finance industry.
I have verbally accepted and now been informed they will be doing checks, references, criminal and credit.
I am just coming to the end of my Trust Deed, should I be concerned about this credit check?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Wull.
This is one of those difficult questions that has no certain answer.
It will be up to your prospective employer whether information about your trust deed, if they discover it, is material to whether or not they give you the position.
For most employers in most industries it's entirely unimportant and they will not look. Certain positions within the financial services area may be sensitive to this subject.
I do hope that the job offer remains on the table for you; please let us know.
A lot of them in term of credit checks only check for ccj's or bankruptcy
some of them will go into more detail and also look at default/delinquent debt (eg. rbs are very strict)
it depends on which company it is, an anonymous call to the hr department asking what they specifically check for could clear it up
but its dependant on the company i find...
Hi i recently came out of a trust deed, at the beginning i was employed by rbs, unfortunately they had to terminate my contract and i had to seek employment elsewhere x

How ironic, considering the way RBS ran their own affairs.
I hope it works out Wull.
Cheers,
DFW
It came up as an IVA, I was asked to send in an email describing what they found and once they were happy it matched what was found I was told it was ok so all's ended well.
I have yeah thanks.
