My form 5 came through yesterday and my wife's came a week before that. I can hardly believe that having a trust deed was going to be so painless and worry free it has been the best thing I have done. I am not proud that I had to do it and was ashamed that I had, but it was the only way out for me.
After signing in April 2011 and now getting our Form 5s in May 2014, I can't believe that it is over, getting them so quick was a total surprise, I had heard that it would take a few months at least before I/we would be released from the deed, but that is it over.But what now?
How soon can we start to apply for a credit card to start to build up our credit rating again?
I would like to thank C/D and all the people on here who give excellent advise and reassurance to people like me who have gone down a scary road and will emerge at the end with a huge weight lifted off their shoulders, for others reading this, you will get through it, and 3 or 4 years is not long and ours passed quickly I hope theirs will too.
Thanks

Good for you Luckysnoop, and congratulations.

Hopefully some other members will share what they did to work on their credit status after discharge from their trust deeds.

Hi luckysnoop,

Well done on the successful completion of your Trust Deed's.

If a Trust Deed is set up correctly at the outset then there shouldn't be any surprises and it should do exactly what it's meant to do!

A lot of the time when applying for credit so soon after a Trust Deed has been completed it's just a case of applying to see if your accepted or not. You will probably find it difficult to obtain a credit card with a main street lender at a competitive rate so it's probably onto one of the providers who charge a higher interest rate but will accept someone with a poor credit rating.

Hopefully others can share their views and experiences on this. If you do apply let us know how you get on.

Best wishes for the future and enjoy being debt free.

Hi Luckysnoop.

Congratulations, you must be so relieved and
happy , well done. I'm not that far behind you.
My final payment is next week !!

I managed to get a vanquis card a few months
ago. Safely tucked away for emergencies.
You could maybe give it a go.
