My husband has just been offered a verbal contract for a new job. They have said they now need to run security checks and a credit check (only public records?) I am in a trust deed, but my husband isnt. Do you think that my being in a trust deed may affect his chance of being offered the job? (it is for metre reading for Scottish Southern Energy) Many thanks for your advice.

Welcome to the trust deed forum saz.

I think it's incredibly unlikely that your trust deed will stand in the way of your husband getting this job. Most jobs aren't affected by trust deeds, and we've never heard of anyone being prevented from getting a job because their partner or spouse is in one.

I think Scottish Southern Energy are probably just being a little cautious about your husband himself as the job itself will involve visiting people in their own premises.
