Hi, I was discharged from my trust deed in March 2015, My company handled everything quickly for me 🙂

I've heard from a few people that the trust deed stays on my credit file for 6 years.....Now is that 6 years from entering into the trust deed or 6 years from being discharged??

Welcome to the trust deed forum jax_lou.

It will stay there for six years from the start.

Anything added to your credit report stays there for six years.

Thanks

So just clearing this up...if I entered into my trust deed in December 2011 and discharged in March 2015, does that mean it will stay on my file til December 2017??

Thanks very much...that's a relief....I thought it was 6 years from the date of discharge that the trust deed stayed on the credit file.
I've contacted my debts too and had my credit file updated to mark my debt as satisfied, I must say the companies I have had to phone have been very helpful.

That makes a change to hear jax_lou! I'm glad it's going well for you.

How did you find the process of entering, being in, and completing your trust deed?

I've to wait til the end of the month and recheck my file....they said if it's not been updated just to contact them again, all in all the service was better than I expected.
I went to the citizens advice and was put into contact with a company to set up my trust deed, I found them to be supportive.
My circumstances had changed during my term and I'd went onto maternity leave and had my monthly contributions greatly reduced! from £200 to £30.
It took 3 months for me to be discharged from my trust deed, which after ready some of the posts on here seems like it was dealt with very quickly.

That's good to hear jax_lou.

I get the sense that most trust deeds work out pretty well - sometimes the picture in forums such as this can be a little distorted because they naturally tend to attract contributions from people experiencing issues along the way.

Best wishes with everything.

Hello all!

I completed my trust deed in november 2016 and started it in May 2013. I have been speaking to a mortgage advisor who told me not to bother applying as the trust deed will stay on your file 6 years from the END of the trust deed rather than the START of the trust deed, yet all the documentation I have searched says from the start, can you please clarify?

Many thanks

Grant

Welcome to the forum Nones86.

They're wrong. It will leave your credit file 6 years after it began.

Might be a sign that you should contact a different mortgage broker.

Hi I was told by YBS it was the end date as the discharge was classed as a CCJ.
My final payment was in May 2016 but due to Ppi checks I was not discharged until July 17.

Hi Linda Mac.

I'm afraid that all of this information is completely wrong.

If they don't know what they're talking about they shouldn't be talking about this at all.
