Looking for some advice,

I received a letter from HMRC to say that I was owed £30.40 but as they note im in a trust deed, they are using the money to pay off other debts I owe them? I only have a small overpayment being taken off me for tax credits, is this normal practice? I did not declare my Tax credit overpayment debt in my trust deed as its being taken from me weekly on tax credits until November this year. (£550.00 owed).

Any feedback will be appreciated.

**just called them spoke to a really nice guy, he said its a standard letter I don't owe any further and that the £30.40 has been sent to My Trustee at Wylie & Bisset 🙂 , TBH the HMRC should be careful about their letter wording as I was so worried I owed money I didn't know about. I can breath now 🙂

Hello Garfield1030.

We often hear about standard letter wording here that causes confusion.

I'm glad that it was all quickly sorted out.
