Hello all.

Just looking for some advice.

I,ve been trying to get finance for a new car but no luck.

I entered into aPTD Feb 2010, discharged Nov 2013.

On checking my credit reports equifax and experian still have all my old debts, but call credit(noddle) have shown that most debts are off my file and only 3 left to drop off. Everything else is showing as settled.

Will everything automatically drop off my file after exactly 6 years? I,m presuming that will be feb 2016?

I always thought when the PTD finished that was your credit file starting to go back to normal.

I do have a vanquis card and a sim only contract which is ideal and enouge but just wonder how to go about the car finance thing.

thanks everyone.

Hi materialgirl.

Any dated entry on your credit file should vanish six years after it arrived. What dates are on there for various different things?

I'm not sure there's a "normal" when it comes to credit ratings. Just good use of credit that has been reported, and negative credit events that have been reported.

Lenders interpret this information in different ways, along with other types of information that you give them when you make a credit application. The fact that one credit provider has turned you down doesn't mean that another will not take a more positive view.
