Hi DASDude, we had a lovely Christmas and I hope you did too? It was a great feeling not bringing out the plastic, buying gifts to impress people we don't even like :p

I'm looking forward to the day we are both back on the forum, having completed our arrangements.

Feel free to contribute to the forum whenever you’d like to.

There’s lots of people reading who are concerned about their debts but haven’t yet quite reached the point where they’re ready to ask for help. The perspective of those who have taken this big step can be really valuable.

Hi Igglepiggle!

Happy new year to you, glad your xmas went well with no use of plastic, it’s fantastic! It’s great taking a minimal approach to Xmas, I had a really good time with the family thanks. It’s motivating seeing the debt total going down, and knowing we are now in 2020 is a good milestone. Here’s to being debt free eventually, can’t wait for the day we both post it up on here!

If any readers of these forums are in any doubt, go get some professional advice re. your finances it could be the best thing you do in 2020! 🙂

Hope to hear from you again soon Igglepiggle let us know how your getting on.

Update

This week I got a great call from David advising that our Trust Deeds are now protected. What a buzz that was. We have already started to benefit massively from sorting out our debt. I would encourage anyone else to speak out if you are struggling.

Thanks to David and his team we are winning. It hasn't felt like that for a long time. Now that we have a solution in place, I can now look back and see how much the debt was weighing on my wife and I. We have also found that not only are we getting on much better, more positive things have started to happen in our careers and as a family.

I have also become slightly obsessed with financial podcasts, in particular Dave Ramsey. Well worth a listen to understand the pitfalls of spending and consumer debt.

Once again...THANK YOU DAVID! [:D]

Hi Igglepiggle

Great news to hear your TD is now protected. I can second what you have said in that exactly the same happened for me entering a DAS with job and family, funnily enough I developed that same obsession and watched a lot of Dave Ramsey on you tube but alter the advice for living in Scotland. I like his baby step principles. Better to obsess over Dave than to be still drowning in a sea of debt 🙂

Good to hear igglepiggle,

I had my first meeting with David last week and totally agree with everything you said previously, I hope to be in your position soon with a protected trust deed!
