I can't answer for you as only you know your circumstances....

As for me I entered a Trust Deed over a year ago and have had no regrets since then... The relief of being able to pay my bills every month knowing that no one is chasing me for my debts is well worth signing the paperwork...

I'm in the same position, just noted in the paper and signed everything last wk, all i'm going to do is keep faith in my company and forward everything onto them (your paying them to deal with the creditors)

I'm only worried about phone calls as i feel really guilty and don't know if i can handle the calls

thanks for the replies. well yeah I do think it is the right thing, i will know what i am paying and all will be ok (i hope). I am just concerned that it fails to become protected and if i have missed something vital in the paperwork, you pay what you can afford, and at the end of 3 yrs the nightmare is over.. what have i missed ??

And ofcourse the letters coming through the door and phone calls is gonna stress me out! and how best to deal with it.
I just feel such an idiot for getting in a mess.. this seems the only way out. There are just some small doubts, it all seems almost to easy if that makes sense

Get all the letters and once a week send them to your trustee. They won't completely stop but will get to the point where once a year or every 6 months, you'll get one giving a statement. You don't have to act on this. It's down to new legislation in the financial sector. Ignore the phone calls. Get caller display and any number you don't recognise, let the answering machine pick it up. If necessary, take a note of the number and email your trustee if they're being a bit persistant. You might get the usual 'we now own your debt, we're coming to your house if you don't call us' card. Again, get your trustee to deal with this. It's what the fees are for.

I spent years shuffling debts from card to loan to card and behaving like an ostrich. My trust deed freed me from that stress but I can totally get where you're coming from with the calls and letters. In three years, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
