Hi, I check this forum out every day and find it really useful and helpful. I entered a PTD in May 2010 and I realised, with some surprise, that I was now half way through, having made 18 payments. While I was really pleased as I hadn't realised that I was now half way through the three year term of 36 months, it then dawned on me I had as far to go again, in other words, another mountain to climb.

While I will never regret having gone into the Trust Deed, it does seem that I've been on this road for a very long time having been in a DMP for 3.5 years prior to entering the Trust Deed. I'm hoping that the next eighteen months go by as fast as the last eighteen have and I can then look forward to a debt free future as I will never get myself into this position again.

This forum is a real point of support for me and all I can say is keep up the excellent work you do and best of luck to everyone in the same position as me [:)]

Hi Jingles. It's great that you've found the forum useful and I'm glad that you've chosen to contribute.

Well done on reaching the halfway point of your trust deed.

Maybe you should consider that most of the hard work has been done climbing the mountain, and that you now have a steady descent to where you want to be?

Thanks TDA, that is one way to look at it and probably the most positive way but right now it still looks like a huge mountain to climb, I was in the DMP for 4.5 years, not 3.5 so that's nearly 6 years I've been trying to get out of the hole I dug for myself - once Christmas is over I'll try to start looking at things a bit differently but right now April 2013 seems a very long way away!!
