I completed my Trust Deed in March 2015, recieved my discharge form 5 in December 2015, but still waiting on Form 6 formally and legally completing Trust Deed. How long should this take and should I be getting in touch with the Legal Ombudsman as one of the creditors is refusing to change my credit file until they get their remuneration? Many thanks
Mandy

Hi Mandy75.

The trustee has no fixed timescale to discharge themselves (Form 6).

This should make no difference to you.

The creditor refusing to update your credit file appears to be in breach of the data protection act:

https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html

I'd suggest making a formal complaint to this creditor. If that doesn't work you could then contact the Information Commissioner's Office and/or the Financial Ombudsman Service. Both may be able to intervene to have your credit file updated appropriately.

Hi Mandy75,

As you'll have read, their payment from your trust deed is sideshow.

You've completed your trust deed and have been discharged from your debts. Your credit file should reflect that (as a result of your former creditors reporting to the credit reference agencies with this in mind).
