Congratulations babyd12 - I'm glad that the closure process didn't take too long.

In terms of your questions:

1 - The lenders should fairly promptly update the credit reference agencies once you have been discharged (Form 5). This doesn't always happen so you might have to chase some lenders up.

2 - I'd speak to the credit reference agencies - assuming the Register of Insolvencies has been updated with your discharge they should be updating their own files also.

3 - Normally a couple of days after the AIB has received a copy of your Form 5 from your trustee. Discharge isn't official until the AIB updates the register.

4 - They don't really have any obligation to you in this respect babyd12. You've been discharged as you could expect having completed your obligations - they'll seek their own discharge once they've completed theirs.

Should my TD company have sent AIB a copy of my form5 at the same time as they sent me my copy? Should I check with my TD company that they have sent it or do I contact someone from AIB to check if they have a copy and when it will show that I have been discharged?

Will my default credit files only be updated once AIB website is showing me as discharged?

If you go on the online Register of Insolvencies you'll be able to search for your own trust deed record.

If Form 5 isn't showing as issued you're not officially discharged and therefore creditors and the credit reference agencies will not have updated your records.

You'll want to chase your trustee if that's what has happened.

Hi thanks again for messaging back. On the AIB website I have managed to find myself. I can't see a part about form5 but there is a part that says debtor discharge. Is this me? And is this the part that should have a date in it to show I have been officially discharged? The only parts that have dates are trust deed signed date - 03/08/2012 and Date of registration as a protected trust deed - 20/09/2012. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks again for all your help.

Hi, I got my form 5 on Saturday morning and ROI had been updated with discharge date when I checked on Monday around lunchtime. I was with Creditfix.

It is the Debtor Discharge date babyd12.

If that's missing, and you've received your Form 5, it seems there will have been a little admin error somewhere.

Hopefully this is something your trustee can quickly resolve for you if you get in touch.

Yeah debtor discharge date is still blank. I will get onto creditfix and see what is happening. Thanks Bruce, that is good to know since I am with the same company.
