My wife and I are halfway through our PTD. I'm checking our credit file there are a few debts we had forgotten about that are not included. Can you tell me what happens to these debts at end of PTD? None of the creditors appear to be attempting to collect and a couple we haven't heard from for a while.

Thanks

Another early riser:-)
As your TD is protected it would have been in the Edinburgh Gazette for ALL of your debtors to make a claim. If they fail to notice and do not make a claim tough titty.
Should they contact you refer them to your IP.
That is my understanding which TDA and others will advice if I have gotten this wrong.

Completed 3yr TD Sept '12 discharged Sept '12. Trustee discharged Jan '13

3 children who do not know how to stay in bed past 6 [:D]

Thanks for that I wasn't too sure. So correct me if I'm wrong, after the PTD is finished and I am discharged would I have no liability for the debts not included and would it be the case of sending the a copy of my Form 5 to show this?

Welcome to the forum Baller1.

How many extra debts are there? Do they add up to much in value?

You should make your trustee aware of them.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I think I am looking for similar advice. Not long before my TD started my washing machine packed up. I has no cash to get a new one so used a store card I had to get one. The store card is credit via Santander who were one of my major creditors. I didn't include this debt when I went for my TD as I felt guilty that I had obtained this credit knowing I'd probably be seeking a TD shortly afterwards. I've just been paying the minimum amount each month (£5) while my TD has been running so not much more than interest has been getting paid. It's only about £300 in debt and my plan was to clear it once my TD is complete next June. Should I be including this in my TD or just keep things going the way they are?

Glad that's over with....

Hi upstream.

All the debts are technically included and you shouldn't be paying one directly in preference to the others.

I'd let your trustee know.
