I now have printed confirmation from the AIB Register that both myself and the Trustees have been discharged. I should feel happier but still feel bitter and twisted that it didn't work out the way I was told it would and through no fault of my own. My Trustees made over ยฃ 9,000 out of me and my creditors got ยฃ 13,000 odds between them, a drop in the ocean to what was owed. Have considered making a formal complaint but actually can't be bothered, don't ever want to have to speak to the Trustees again so they will get away with their misleading advice, poor service and at times downright lies.
I will still read everyones posts with total disbelief at the horror stories that I see everyday on here, there are clearly some firms better than others at dealing with Trust Deeds.
If I can offer one piece of advice, its make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing and even when you've got it READ it to make sure you understand it and make sure that it agrees with what you've been verbally told as there is NOTHING you can do about it later.
Thank you to all the experts and non-experts who give up their time to help, I wish I'd found you all sooner ๐
Good Luck to everyone starting their journey, in the middle of their journey with half their hair and at the end with no hair left. I'd like to think there are some success stories out there and would love to hear them.....
One hurdle over, next one cleaning up the defaults etc. as despite payments being made in January no-one seems to have updated their records, I'd probably be bored with no-one to fight ๐
Thank you all again.
Hi WIKIKEE.
I'm glad that the final hurdle has been overcome.
You offer some really good advice. Accepting verbal assurances is highly risky. Getting all important issues in writing before signing is certainly the way forward.
Good trustees will have no issue with doing that.
