My company take 20p in the pound of contribution. Does this mean that over the initial the years of my trust deed I actually only pay 1/5 of the money I have been paying every month towards my debt?
Many thanks in advance.
If your Trust Deed company is paying a dividend of 20p in the £ to your creditors it means that your creditors will receive a fifth of what was owed to them as at the date you signed your Trust Deed.
For example, if you owed £10,000, then the funds distributed by way of a dividend would be £2,000.
The corellation between what you pay and what creditors would receive is different. Most IP's will charge somewhere between £3,000 and £4,500 for a three year trust deed which could be much more than a fifth of what is paid.
The estimated fees will have been detailed to creditors at the outset and you should have received a copy of that correspondence together with annual reports detailing the IP's fees and rights of appeal for both yourself and the creditors.
Thanks for the reply.
