Hi, here is another quick question to the experts, if I had 12 months left to go on my TD,and my payments were £200 per month, for each month I paid I could get a family member to pay the same, would that mean there would be a chance of reducing the term to six months, and would I have a case for discharge after that time. Don't know if this has been asked before. Thank you

Yes... so long as you trustee is agreeable poprey.

For other readers, this will not be possible normally with newer trust deeds.

Hi poprey,

Your Trustee could accept that offer and either discharge you after 6 months once all funds ingathered or accept it but not discharge you until you reach the end of your 36 months.

On the other hand, your Trustee may decide not to accept the offer.

Like with a lot of things it comes down to your individual Trustee so you will need to run it past them.

Let us know how you get on.

The Trust Deed is an individual arrangement so I don't see why not.
