I have a PTD. I recently asked for a copy (from Experian) of my credit record, I was really surprised when it came back as excellent. I checked it through and it does show my debts however the status of them show as satisfied. Has anyone else experienced this? And does that mean I might get credit again quicker after I come out of my PTD in December 2012?

Hi buffytennant.

It's really hard to say, but the fact that you were recently in a trust deed will be of interest to many lenders and is likely to affect their decision making.

The Experian overall rating is an indication of what Experian think a lender might think about your credit status, but each of them actually interprets the information available as they see fit.

The credit scores don't always mean much as financial houses tend to have their own in-house scoring methods anyway. If you were to look at a selection of main stream lenders, one of the criteria is likely to be that the spplicant has had no IVA's or bankrupcy. Trust Deeds would be included in this. The scores seem to be a starting point but it's the other info on the credit file that is more important.
