Hi All,

I have made my last payment including the £500 for equity to my 4 year trust deed, I phoned up the company I had been using as I hadn't heard from them and to confirm if I could cancel my standing order, to which they said I could. They then said my file would be passed upstairs to whom I assume is the person in charge of my account, for a finally check to see if anything is missing. Does any of the experts know what that means? I completed the three annual reviews and sent of the documentation asked for, there was 1 or 2 payslips missing over the years but they said that was fine. What else do they look for as the assistant said it wasn't payslips etc they check at this stage and mention something like a photo missing etc. I am just a little nervous as I am so close to the end.

I have only posted once before one here when I thought it was strange that I never hear anything from the company, I just don't want any surprises at the end.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dg021440.

Well done on reaching the very final stages.

All firms will have a process to make sure everything is in place before being able to discharge you.

This might be to double-check you've completed your obligations. It might also be in order to double-check that the trust deed provider itself has an up-to-date file in respect of your case. All perfectly normal stuff.

It would usually take a few weeks to provide your discharge, though some firms seem to take a lot longer. You might want to ask how long they expect it to take in your case.

Thanks TDA assistant, for you reply, would I know before this point then if they expected more money? I know PPI has been investigated, and I received a phone call regarding a payment, they said they would advise in due course would would happen, that was months ago and I did phone them up when I hadn't heard, and they said I would receive a letter from the person in charge if any action was necessary, again nothing for ages and when speaking to the assistant on the phone last Friday, she said everything on screen looked up to date. I am worrying myself for nothing?

I should point out the sum in question which I disputed anyway was around £800.

Hi Dg021440.

I think you might be worrying unduly.

If you had a further financial liability to the trust deed I'd think you would probably know something about it already.
