My husband and i are nearing the end of our trust deeds, i am getting a bit anxious as i have been reading through the forums about companies extending the trust deed or even taking a couple of years to discharge you from the trust deeds is this usually what happens at the end?[|)]

Hi FabFee,

It's not normally a complex or especially time-consuming process.

If your affairs are fairly straightforward it should only take a few weeks to get everything sorted out and finished.

Are there any potential complications of which you are aware?

A couple of my husbands payments were reduced from ?ú180pm to ?ú100pm as we were struggling those particular months for money but were put back up to the normal amount. I have a car on finance that was not entered into the trust deed but was told that i may not have to sell it as the finance total is greater than the cars value. My payments have also been reduced per month as our financial situations changed but we have kept them informed of any changes as soon as they happened.

It might be worth contacting your Trust Deed company to find out the expected end date FabFee.

There could have been an extension to the original duration to take account of the reduction in the payments, though this will not necessarily be the case.
