hi everyone

I came to the end of my trust deed October last year, so i called kpmg to ask what happens now. i was told that i had made my final payment and that discharge could take up to 6 months, so i left it at that. in November i received a letter saying that i hadnt kept up to date with my payments and to start payments again. i called kpmg again to find out what was happening. Got told again that i had indeed made my final payment in October and just to discard the letter, so thats what i did. Last week i received another letter telling me the same thing, that i hadnt kept up to date with my payments and to start paying again. i'm going to call again tomorrow to find out whats going on. Any ideas whats going on?

Welcome to the forum marty01.

Sounds like an issue with their operating system firing out letters it shouldn't.

Hopefully you'll be reassured on this when you contact them.

Hi marty01,

Well done on reaching this point and successfully completing all of your payments.

Like TDA had advised it does sound like it's an automatic letter being sent by the computer.

I would ask them to confirm in writing that you have completed all of your payments just to be sure.

I would also chase them for your discharge. My firm normally do this within 4-6 weeks of someone's final payment. Ultimately until your discharged if you acquire or inherit an asset or win the lottery until your formal discharge your Trustee can take this into your Trust Deed.

Thanks for your comments
I called kpmg today to find out what was happening. Again I was told I have are all my payments, and that their system has been updated to confirm this. I've asked for a confirmation in writing to be sent to me, the girl didn't know why I hadn't heard anything from them by now, so I will receive confirmation of my payments within 7 days. The discharge letter should be with me in a couple of weeks. So glad to be at the end of it now, and to have the extra money, makes all the difference. Thanks again for your comments and advice
