I paid my last payment to Begbie Traynors back in Nov 2011, I am at my wits end now with this shower.. My credit file was 'Good' at start of the 2013 now its 'poor' and showing defaults.. a company called 'Max Recovery'........ Is their anyway I can turn this round on BT by telling them they have failed in every aspect to discharge themselves from trust deed in a timely matter or even taking action against them
it was Nov 2011 when i finished payment, i stuck to my agreement & never missed a payment... and now its May 2013 and they are dragging their heels and my credit file is taking a hammering through no fault but BT failure to discharge themselves from the TD..
First they told me January 2012 'As discussed legislation has come in stating VAT is no longer chargeable to Trust Deed, therefore all VAT that has een charged to your case must be refunded for the benefit of your creditors. I will then proceed to close your Trust Deed and you will receive your letter of discharge in due course"
I have received my letter of discharge back in January 2013 a full 14 months after my final payment.
Then they tell me 14 May 2013 "As previously advised there is still work to be done from our side, There is outstanding PPI payment we are waiting on for before we can close your case@
I have seen a house that myself and the family can see us living, affordability is not an issue but these defaults on my file will screw my application for mortgage.. Is their any way round this...
Please help.. I am at my wits end, I don't know where to turn and i can not see this ever going away..

Sorry to hear that yet again Begbies have failed to provide you with a decent service for the fees you have paid . I have had nothing but problems for seven years with this firm , my trustee is useless and hiding behind delaying letters and vague threats whilst milking me for fees , he cant even follow the law without hesitation .
Look to see who regulates him and raise a complaint against them and with the AIB , you have paid fees for them to provide a service which you clearly have not been getting .
Please let us know you get on , out of interest is your trustees name K.W.P.[:(] stick in there upnorth Im with you ALL the way and get that complaint in , if we have same trustee he is a member of the IPA and I can give you details of whom to contact , united we stand .[^]

This issue with your credit file isn't down to Begbies, its down to individual creditors and their reporting.
You've been discharged, so you need to get your creditors to update your file. This article should help you:
