Hi,
Im about to complete my 6 years of being in a Trust Deed this October.
My question is, the Credit agencies are correctly showing a start of Trust deed date on November 2011, however they have a discharged date three years later on Nov 2014 which is still showing three years of default after i started my Trust deed.
I thought all previous signs of debt fell off the account six years AFTER the start of the Trust Deed? If so, these extra three years (of a discharged date) will remain on for a further three years.
Im totally confused.
Is it three years after discharge date, or three years after the initial Trust Deed start date?
Hi Rickie1.
Your trust deed will no longer appear on your credit report six years after it began.
The creditors will no longer appear on your credit report six years after they issued formal default notices to you. The relevant dates will be on your credit report.
Formal default notices should not be issued after your trust deed began. If they were, you may wish to go back to those creditors and require that they amend them with the credit reference agencies.
Is it possible to send a snapshot of what im talking about?
So basically, regardless of what the creditor still has on the credit reports, the creditor and all their listings will disappear at the end of the six years?
Hi Rickie1,
My understanding is that the information will disappear 6 years from the “date of default” on the credit file.

Okay, many thanks. Its just that the default info is still showing until Dec 2014, but the start date is Nov 2011. Just wondered if the 2014 (as thats the TD completion) was the six years from date!
So, to finalise, the complete record of ANY creditor i have that was on my TD, will be removed (in principle) six years after the start date of my TD in Nov 2011?
Much Appreciated.
Hi Rickie1.
Well... they should disappear six years after your trust deed began, because default notices should have been issued by your creditors around the date that the trust deed began (if they hadn't been issued before that).
If default notices were issued later, or not at all, then certain accounts might remain on your credit report after your trust deed has gone. This is where some intervention might be required if this turns out to be the case.
Okay. Brilliant. Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
