3 of my old Bos accounts are still showing up as unpaid for every month this year, but other accounts say default in 2009 when I took my trust deed. I know the accounts stay on for 6 years but is there anyway to get the accounts brought up to date to show that they were defaulted February 2009 and that payments have not been missed recently? Trying to sort my credit score out, although it has went up the last 4 months, but I've just switched my car insurance and they won't let me pay it up although previous insurer did. Could this be why? Anybody any suggestions on how to sort it?

Hi mshazmac.

Presumably you're now discharged?

You'll need to contact Bank of Scotland mshazmac. Once you're discharged any monthly reporting should have stopped and the balances should have been set to zero. Use the complaints process if you're not getting anywhere with customer services. I think they were probably within their rights to report up until your discharge (though none of us our experts on this).

Any formal "default notices" (different to a monthly default on payment) should not be dated much after the trust deed started. If they are you'll also need to contact the relevant creditors to request changes.

Thanks for the info. It's only the BOS I'm having bother with. Most of the debt was with them. Will contact them and try and get it sorted.
Many thanks
