Hi, can someone please give me advice. Several months ago I was set up with a debt arrangement scheme which I've been paying successfully for months. In last two days I have had two threatening letters from two of the credit card companies that are included in my das stating that if I do not settle the arrears on my account by 24th November they will be closing my account and my debt will be sold on to another company and they will be starting court proceedings!
I contacted both companies (MBA and barclaycard) tonight who inform me that although they have been receiving the payments from the das people they will be registering ccj against me and are threatening court proceedings? How can this be?

How can it be?

Because the creditors either:

- don't understand DAS
- don't care, and are just trying to scare more money out of you!

The fact that they're talking about a CCJ makes me think that they simply haven't got a clue! CCJs are an 'English law' thing. If you live in Scotland, CCJs aren't relevant.

Get in touch with your money adviser, or the DAS Administrator tomorrow and let them know that this has happened. Hopefully they'll be able to give you more advice, and put a stop to MBNA's nonsense.

Hi Kazibee.

Candlewick is absolutely right as usual.

You have nothing to worry about.

mBNA and Barclaycard are particularly dogged in their attempts to convince us to Pay.

Like Candlewick says, pass it all on to your trustee to reply to them or any other company associated with them.
