I signed my trust deed 6 years ago. Due to this and that I was discharged last January(hurray!). A couple of creditors were still defaulting and I duly contacted them. One of them said since it was signed 6 years ago they would delete the files completely. Whilst some are just marked satisfied, but the previous defaults during the trust deed remain.

So my question is this: Are these files/defaults deleted 6 years after the signing of the trust deed OR 6 years after the date of discharge?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum al-r.

Congratulations on completing your trust deed.

Anything that goes on your credit file stays there for six years.

Default notices should not have been dated much after your trust deed began.

If they've been added much after it began you can ask the issuer to backdate the entry.

This will mean that it drops off your credit file sooner.
