I just checked mine. I can see it taking a while for me to get a current account. Call Credit gave me a 407, equifax gave me 250 and experian gave me 793. My default dates are all over the place and nothing is marked as satisfied. Should I send them a copy of my form 5 to update my insolvancy as discharged? Also, does anyone have a template for a letter to send to creditors to get them to update the dates on my account?

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Hello gillian.

As your discharge has been so recent you may wish to give your creditors a little time to make the required updates to your credit file before doing too much work yourself.

If you have default notices dated much after the start of your trust deed it's probably a good idea to start requesting that they are moved back. The following article explains, and hopefully will help you to do it:

It would also appear on closer examination, that I had a credit card with Creation. I never received or applied for anything with Creation so I sent them an email this morning with both listed addresses to ask them to close whatever account they have in my name. It makes interesting reading does this credit report and shows me up for the financial bombscare that I am. I think I'll put a small laminated copy in my purse to look at before I make a purchase.

I think your level of self-awareness is refreshing and clear enough to not need the laminated copy of your credit report in your purse. I love the idea though :o)

It is also the norm for different agencies to all have different information about you on file. A shambling mess but the norm nonetheless.

The best of luck to you in your new financially independent life. Enjoy it and take care.
