Welcome to the forum waterman.

Default notices should be dated no later than the start of your trust deed.

They should be marked satisfied or partially satisfied upon your discharge.

They should then drop off your credit report after six years - the same time you'd expect the trust deed record to drop off.

If some of the above hasn't happened you'll need to contact the lenders concerned and request/demand action.

Looks like that default is going to drop off your credit file this month waterman.

I'm not sure you need to do anything.

HI TDA one more question when it drops off my report will it always show that i defaulted on a debt when anybody goes to look at it , for example i want to swap my mortgage soon to something better if i can !!!! but have never tried due to the fault on my account on the credit expert file, but don't want to chance it if there is a slight chance they would see it , and if its off is it off for good thanks Water man

Hi when a question comes up on an insurance policy that asks have you or anybody else been involved in a IVA this is the same as trust deed >> and at the time of the policy you were and have said no , and your are clear of it now ! do you still have to say to them , and what would happen if something happened to your house and they found out that you were in a trust deed and you never said would the policy be invalid !!! just thinking here what i need to do thanks

Technically you would not have been in an IVA, but it would be sensible to query whether they have underwriting rules about trust deeds if this question is being asked?

If you have a policy that is subject to a restriction that you've breached, you're clearly at risk of paying for a policy that will not pay out to you. Which rather defeats the whole point of the exercise I guess.

I guess you might also be at some risk of ending up on the systems insurers use to protect themselves from customers they suspect aren't being straight with them - which could have long-term consequences.

You'll need to check up on them waterman to see whether their actions match your expectations.
