Hiya

Does it show on your Credit Report that you were discharged from your Trust Deed early?

Does it show on your Credit Report that you voluntarily handed a car back that was on HP and that it wasnt repossessed?

Hi again.

We're not credit file experts, so these answers come with a warning.

I don't think an early trust deed discharge will show directly, but might be apparent to the educated eye as a result of default notices being marked as satisfied or balances reset to zero earlier than might have been expected.

Regards the car, it will depend on what the HP provider reported to the credit reference agencies. If you did not meet the contractual terms of the agreement that's likely to be apparent one way or another.

You say you have ordered a credit report. You should be ordering three: Experian, Equifax and Call Credit. You need to get everything up to date across them all.

I'm not sure I'd rely on an educated eye as they are few and far between. And I don't say that to be disparaging to any person, it's a comment on the standard of training across the industry.

What you may wish to do is put a "notice of correction" on your file. Do a web search, you'll find out what to say. Companies legally have to look at this when you apply for credit. Of course, they can ignore it, but at least you'll have told your side of the story.

Also make sure your name, address and dob is exactly the same and correct across each product. Computers do a certain amount of fuzzy matching, but even what seems to the human eye to be insignificant can lead to things being missed or double counted.
