I notice with interest that there is a topic in relation to repairing your Credit. Does anyone have any information on what to do or who to contact if the creditor refuses to remove the 'Default' from the main three agencies into either Satisfied or Partially Satisfied after being contacted in relation to this problem?
I think my biggest problem is tackling the Debt Recovery agencies to who the debt was sold onto. I don't think they will be as easy to deal with or get satisfaction to resolve the problem as the original major company would have.
Anyone have any hints or tips to share?

Hi Rickie1.

This might just be an issue of terminology, but default notices will not be removed straight away. They should be marked as being satisfied or partially satisfied, which is what I think you're saying.

I wouldn't assume that debt purchasers will be any more difficult where there's an issue with a credit file.

Complaining formally to a firm is probably the best starting point. After that (if this fails) you could contact the Information Commissioner's Office or perhaps the Financial Ombudsman.
