For those wondering about it, here is my experience.
I hadn't even thought about my credit score for years because I knew it would be shot to pieces so I didn't even bother to check it.
Move the clock forward to 6 and a half years after my original trust deed signing.
I bit the bullet and checked both Experian and Equifax and I was dreading what they were going to say.
But...
There was absolutely no sign of any of my old debts or the trust deed itself and both gave me absolutely perfect scores (999 out of 1000 on Experian is the one I can remember).
Now, some lenders may use their own records if they already know you but those going on just those reports will have no sight of your previous history.
It's true DFW.
Stuff that goes on your credit report really is gone six years later.
In practical terms this means many people starting a trust deed now will see little or no evidence of it on their credit file a couple of years after they have finished it.
A nice positive encouraging post DFWB for other people who are concerned about their credit rating. It will bounce back it just takes some time.
Thanks for coming back to the forum to share an update.
