I was discharged from my Trust Deed in August 15 and received a copy of the AIB page showing my date of discharge along with a letter from my Trustee confirming my discharge. I have checked today and see that the Trustee has not yet been discharged. I would like to start getting my credit file records updated as some dates differ regarding the date of my Trust Deed start. Do I have to wait until my Trustee is discharged before I try to get this sorted? Also at what point would my records show as settled/partially settled given that the Trustee has not been discharged and I take it no money paid out to the creditors as yet. Apologies this has probably been covered before but your assistance would be appreciated as cant quite get my head around this part.

Hi worriedmary.

You don't need to wait for your trustee to be discharged to start addressing inaccuracies on your credit report. It makes no difference that your creditors have not been paid yet.

Default notices should be dated no later than the start of your trust deed - you may need to get some backdated.

Upon your discharge they should be marked satisfied or partially satisfied - you may need to encourage some creditors to get this done.
