Looking for some advice. I was discharged from my Trust Deed in October 2015. I check my credit report each month to ensure everything is accurate and to work on improving my score. Today my file was updated and I fallped 100 points. A default is suddenly showing from a loan that I took out in 2011 and was part of my Trust Deed. The Default is showing from Clydesdale Partner Finance. I believe this is a loan I took out with Barclays Partner Finance for a new boiler. I don’t have the account number. How do I go about having this correctly marked on my file? Will I need to contact my trust deed firm to get account information or should Barclays Partner Finance be able to locate my file without account information? I have been working so hard to ensure everything is up to date. I don’t understand why this is suddenly showing up. I also had one from Creation Financial updated on 4th October showing credit limit of £950 but owing £0. I don’t understand why this has just appeared.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Debtnomore,

If they've enough information to mark your credit file, you'd have to think they could provide you with the account number.

Your former trustee may well still have a record otherwise.

Was Creation a part of your trust deed?

Hi TDA, just to say I managed to find account number from emails I had sent my Trust Deed company 6 years ago so was able to contact Barclays Finance and get the matter resolved. They admitted they had made an error and have also given me £100 in compensation. I believe this should be resolved on my credit file within the next Month or so. Not ideal but I will monitor carefully.

Hi Debtnomore.

I'm glad that you've got this sorted and that the bank involved have taken responsibility for their error.

Hopefully all goes as expected from here.
